اگر آمار صحیح باشد، یهودیان فقط یک درصد (1% ) از نژاد بشری را تشکیل میدهند. این نسبت مانند وزش نسیمی از بخار کم نور ستاره ای گم شده در مقابل فروزانگی درخشان و پر فروغ کهکشان را شیری است.

مسلماً یهودیان بجای آنکه شنیده ودرک شوند همیشه آزرده و اذیت شده اند. اعتبار آنان در جامعه و سهم آنان در لیست نام آوران و دانشمندان نسبت به جمعیت اندکشان غیر قابل قیاس و عجیب است.

در طی تاریخ یهودیان در حالی که دستانشان از پشت بسته بوده به صورتی حیرت انگیز جنگیده اند و از عهده آن بر آمده اند و این نبردها میتوانست باعث شود که آنان خود را گم کنند و دنیا نیز به آنان این حق را میداد.

مصریان، بابلی ها و فارسیان عرض اندام کرده، زمین را از بوق و کرنا و شکوه و جلال پر کردند و سپس در انبوه رویاها محو و فراموش شدند. بدنبال آنان یونانیان وبعد رومیان هیاهوئی  بر پا کردند ولی آنان نیز رفتند.

دیگران هم آمدند و تا اندک زمانی مشعلهای خود را بلند کردند ولی دیری نپائید که شعله ها خاموش شده و حال در شفق نشسته و یا اینکه ناپدید شده اند.

یهودیان همۀ آنان را دیدند و بعد از آنان بعنوان برنده باقی ماندند، همانطور که همیشه بوده اند هم اکنون نیز میباشند. تزلزلی از خود نشان نمیدهند، در آنها نه ناتوانی کهالت مشاهده میشود و نه ضعفی در اعضایشان، نه سستی در قدرتشان و نه کندی در هشیاری فکر پر تکاپویشان.

همه چیز در این جهان فنا پذیرند بجز یهودیت. تمام نیروها سپری میشوند ولی او پابرجاست.

Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of; but he is heard of, has always been heard of; He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world's list of great names... are also out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers.
He has made a marvelous fight in this world, in all the ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it.

The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; The Greek and the Roman followed, and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other
peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished.

The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, and no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind.
All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains.
